Black Perspectives: Empowering the Next Generation of Black Women

Last week we hosted a special episode of Black Perspectives, our long-running Instagram Live series that spotlights Black creators, creatives and entrepreneurs.

The episode – Empowering the Next Generation of Black Women: Mentorship and Education – was hosted on LinkedIn Live by Chenai Garikayi-Mendia, who was joined by author and chef Denai Moore, owner of equity and inclusion consultancy Avenir Network, Dinah Williams, and founder of lifestyle community Black Ballad, Tobi Oredein.

Honouring the theme of Black History Month – Celebrating our Sisters, Saluting our Sisters, and Honouring Matriarchs of Movements – the panel discussed the importance of sponsorship, the difficulty of juggling the roles of being a woman, and the value of celebrating successes by recognition of small (and big) achievements.
