As you may have read in The Drum, we’ve officially launched in Shenzhen! Here, General Manager Dickens Dong explains why we’ve chosen to launch in China’s tech hub.
The We Are Social map of the world has another red pin, this time in Shenzhen, China, where our new office officially opened its doors this week.
Things are already off to a flying start. We launch with a team of 20, including Aaron Breeds who has joined us as Creative Director. Our clients include Amazfit, the Chinese wearables brand that’s taken the world by storm, CHiQ, the fast-growing home appliances company, Only the Brave, owner of the Maison Margiela label, BYD and Snowsky Salt.
We’ve got ambitious plans to grow our Shenzhen operation, and anticipate doubling the number of staff by the end of the year.
One reason for our optimism is the location of our new office – it’s in the Nanshan district which, for those unfamiliar with the city, is known as the Silicon Valley of Shenzhen.
We’re surrounded by over a hundred listed companies and a thousand high-tech businesses – innovation and a sense of opportunity are in the air. So not only do our current clients benefit from our immersion in tech culture, we’re excited about what other chances will arise now that we’re here.

Shenzhen becomes the 18th office in our global network, alongside New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Madrid, London, Paris, Milan, Munich, Berlin, Amsterdam, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo and Sydney.
